Indiana Marinas, Lake Michigan, The New Miller's Westerman's Marina in Portage Indiana

Miller's Westerman's Marina (MWM) is located in Portage, Indiana on Burn's Waterway. We are located within a mile from Lake Michigan with direct access to the Lake. There is also no waterway lock to hold you up. You can be enjoying your boat on Lake Michigan in no time at all. The lakefront areas around Burn's Waterway include many great "boater beaches" to visit. We also have great fishing just outside the mouth for the anglers in your family. Being centrally located on the Lake you can also make a run to Chicago or even take a short run up to Michigan City or New Buffalo for lunch. We hope you will join us at our rustic little marina for the 2007 season.

Call for slip availability for 2010. We have slips and dockage for boats from 20 feet all the way up to 40 feet in length. We may be able to accommodate your boat so please call.

MWM is only 40 miles from Chicago. If you are coming from the Chicago suburbs, MWM is about 45 minutes from the I-55 & 294 junction. We are just 1/4 Mile North of Rte 94 at exit #19 (Rte 249).

Area amenities include the new Bass Pro Shop and numerous other restaurants and hotels.

The Boat Doctor Inc. was established in Chicago, Ill. in 1990 by Kurt Miller a former mechanic and service manager at a leading suburban Chicago marine dealership. The Boat Doctor was 1st opened as a mobile service to provide needed services to the boaters in the Chicago harbors. The business grew and a shop was acquired on the South side of Chicago to provide services to an expanding customer base while still providing mobile services to the close-by harbors. With a crew of eight mechanics the business provided 1st class marine services for many years at that location. In 2000 Kurt moved The Boat Doctor Inc. to Downers Grove, Ill. Recently, November of 2005, Kurt Miller purchased Westerman’s Marina in Portage, In., just off Rte. 249, and is now bringing his 23 years of boat repair experience to Indiana.
